Medigap Plan K
Medicare Supplement Plan K is one of the few Supplemental plans that has higher cost sharing for Boomers.
Medicare Supplement Plan K will pay 50% of the Medicare Part A hospital deductible, and Skilled Nursing facility costs. You are responsible for the other 50% of costs.
Plan K covers 365 days of hospital coverage after your Medicare benefits are used up.
Additionally, Plan K has more cost sharing on Part B services. You will pay the Part B annual deductible of $183 (2018) along with 50% of Part B expenses that Medicare doesn't pay.
The out of pocket maximum for Plan K in 2018 is set at $5,240. This means that the most you will pay for Medicare covered expenses in a plan year is $5,240.
For this reason, we find that Plan K is not as popular as other Supplemental Plan options available.
Plan K, like all other Medicare Supplemental Plans, allows you to use any Doctor, Hospital or Provider in the United States “as long as” they accept Medicare.
So, if you're like most people when it comes to choosing a Medicare Supplement, you may feel like your “spinning-your-wheels” just trying to figure it all out.
If so, you're not alone . . .

*** For Plans K and L, after you meet your out-of-pocket yearly limits and your yearly Part B deductible ($183 for 2018), the Medigap plan pays 100% of covered services for the rest of the calendar year.
